This news was announced on January 13th by Korok Ray, an Associate Professor at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M, He will be the course’s lecturer when the Spring semester commences on January 17th at the Mays Business School and the College of Engineering.
Ray announced in a Twitter thread that the course “Programming Bitcoin” will focus on the Bitcoin Protocol and teach students how to create a Bitcoin library from scratch. He mentioned that it took a significant effort to gain approval from the school’s curriculum committee.
Josh Cowell, a crypto researcher, believes that a lack of quality education is a major hindrance to increasing the adoption of cryptocurrencies. He argues that proper education can improve financial literacy.
